Our partnership program is designed to make this effort quick, simple and painless for your agency and your staff. We've got it down to two easy steps:
1) Your counselor alerts each family early in the placement process that they are legally considered a household employer. As an employer, the family has some tax and legal obligations, BUT it's not nearly as expensive or time-consuming as people think. For most families, the employer tax costs are almost completely offset by tax breaks (some families even come out ahead by paying legally!). And, while the federal and state paperwork is certainly tedious (about 40-50 hours per year according to an IRS estimate), you've solved that problem by giving them access to a specialist who can affordably handle it all with guaranteed accuracy and timeliness. Bottom line: your families can be legal with no paperwork, no risk and minimal cost.
Your staff can also let each family know that your placement process includes a complimentary, no-obligation, no-pressure phone consultation with Breedlove & Associates in order to explain the law and the compliance process, run payroll & budget scenarios, and generally provide individual answers and advice on their specific situation. The family is welcome to call whenever they have 10-15 minutes in their schedule. Whether they end up signing up with our service or not, this educational phone call will likely save the family thousands of dollars and dozens of hours. Just as importantly, you can rest assured that we will never sell our service to your clients -- and since we don't have any other business interests, we'll also never cross-sell or upsell other services/products to your clients.
2) The day after the verbal mention, your counselor follows up by forwarding a simple email to the family (the email, created by us, provides a brief overview of the law and the obligations as well as links for more information). In addition to sharing helpful information with your families, this email provides a tangible record that this aspect of the placement was covered by your agency (added protection for you in the event there's a legal problem down the road).
That's all there is to it. A quick verbal mention and then forward the email. We'll provide the consultations and, after the close of each month, we'll send a report itemizing all the families who signed up. Your agency and the referring counselor get a check for each client who signs up.
